Josh started his volunteering adventure at the Wakefield store, straight after he left school. He was unsure what he wanted to do so went into volunteering to keep himself busy and gain some work experience.
However, sometime after, Josh visited the online department, located in Leeds where all our online shop activity happens, and Ebay stock is processed and listed. He decided he really wanted to join their team and gain extra skills on the online side.
Since volunteering, Josh says it has really built his confidence and during tough times outside of work, the BHF have been there for him to help and support every step of the way. One of his favourite things about volunteering is the opportunity he’s had to meet new people and make friends with his colleagues. His team leader, Chris Ambler, really agrees and describes Josh’s role in the team as Warehouse Operative “An all-round amazing person!”
Josh currently volunteers Tuesdays and Wednesday every week, and outside of volunteering, he loves to socialise with friends and family, play games and is part of a choir.
When asked ‘would you encourage others to get involved, and if so, why?’ Josh says he would love to see others be involved, “the help we support is critical and is acknowledged every time we work, the BHF clearly care.”
Thank you so much for your commitment over the last 10 years Josh, your Leeds team all value and appreciate everything you do.
