Volunteers and Popchoir lift the spirits of commuters

British Heart Foundation volunteers and Popchoir raise an amazing £1,609 for lifesaving research during Heart Month

On 15 February, the fabulous Popchoir performed at Kings Cross St Pancras International to celebrate Heart Month. Supported by a team of British Heart Foundation volunteers, they raised £1,609 in donations from the public during the two-hour performance.

Popchoir’s upbeat tunes brightened the dreary February evening for thousands of commuters, who thoroughly enjoyed the performance and gathered in their masses to enjoy the music. Founder of the Popchoir, Helen Hampton, orchestrated the performance on the evening and has championed performances for the British Heart Foundation for many years.

As ever, the event was supported by a valiant crew of Action Team volunteers, but also enthusiastic volunteers from St George’s University and King’s College London, organised by BHF-funded PhD student Faye Christou.

Ashley Wyatt, Fundraising Manager at the British Heart Foundation said, “it is amazing to have the support from the Popchoir and BHF volunteers, who come together year after year to create an incredibly uplifting event and raise money for our critical lifesaving research. We can’t thank them enough.”
