Heavenly Hearts are cream of the crop

Fundraising group, Heavenly Hearts highlight how they raise funds for BHF

Heavenly Hearts fundraising group based in Maidstone, Kent have been supporting the BHF for many years. Run by Moya Sparrowhawk, the group is made up of 11 fantastic members and organise a whole range of annual events to raise funds for lifesaving research – from seasonal fairs to farmers markets.

In June this year they held their first ‘Summer Soiree’, which was a meal at a French Bistro in Maidstone and raised over £700.

Another recent annual event was the Strawberry Cream Tea, the group organised a whole array of stalls with bric-a-brac, clothing, a raffle and tombola. They also had suppliers come along selling handmade crafts and farm fresh produce.

Guests had a pre-paid ticket to attend the event and were served tea or coffee with a fresh cream scone and strawberries. They raised a total of £1,134 from the event, Moya said, ‘What an enjoyable afternoon on the farm enjoying cream tea in the sunshine raising money for the British Heart Foundation. I’m proud to have such a wonderful group – the Heavenly Hearts.’

Kent Fundraising Manager, Lauren Hearnden, said ‘Moya has supported the BHF over many years with her wonderful Heavenly Hearts group and I would like to thank them all for their dedication and commitment. The Strawberry Cream Tea was a huge success, and it was fantastic to see so many guests enjoying the event’

Their next big event for 2024 is their upcoming annual Christmas Fair in Wateringbury in November with plenty of stalls and festivities, which we’re sure will be another roaring success!

And it’s not just events, the group are all such dedicated supporters of the BHF that one member, Ian, took on his own 'Do Your Own Thing' (DYOT) challenge this year cycling 969 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats, and raised an impressive £1,515!

Moya and the group always work hard to make sure everyone who attends their events enjoy themselves, all while raising as much money as possible for BHF. We can’t thank Moya and the Heavenly Hearts enough for their dedication and drive to support.
