Wetherby Fundraising Group to deliver CPR training in the community

During the Covid-19 restrictions, the Wetherby Fundraising Group fundraised for the BHF by attending outdoor markets organised by one of our charity partners, Little Bird Artisan Markets. This was a great opportunity to raise funds through selling hand-made items, holding a tombola, and selling BHF Christmas cards in the run-up to Christmas. The group  was also able to secure a street collection permit to collect donations during the events.

Now Covid restrictions have been lifted, the group is continuing its relationship with Little Bird Artisan Markets and is now also arranging CPR training sessions in the local area and at an upcoming event. This partnership has been a great opportunity for the group to continue fundraising during the Covid-19 pandemic and as we are now in the midst of 2022 events, the relationship will enable both stallholders and event attendees to learn the lifesaving skill of CPR.

Trish Bell (pictured), member of the Wetherby Fundraising Group, said “It’s been lovely to meet up with the fundraising group again and arrange activities that could be done safely whilst we still had Covid restrictions in place. Attending the markets last year was a great day, both for fundraising and spending time with group members.

“We’re really looking forward to delivering CPR training in the community again over the coming months. This is something the group had delivered prior to Covid and we know this lifesaving skill is as important as ever. With the added benefit of working with Little Bird Artisan Markets to help promote the CPR event in July, we hope to train more people than ever before.”
