Community fundraising group, Fakenham, first met in January 1989 and since then have raised over £300,000 for BHF.
Over the years, the group have been an incredibly creative bunch, organising numerous ways to raise money. From sponsored walks, quiz nights, supermarket and street collections, to the yearly Fakenham Christmas Tree Festival.
They’ve proudly built great connections in their area with their local shop, joined forces with an independent cinema in Fakenham to host fundraising events, and have part-funded multiple defibrillators in the local area.
The group’s co-ordinator, Jane says, “It is brilliant to be the group’s co-ordinator and to share the enthusiasm and dedication of the other volunteers to find ways to raise funds to support vital heart research.”
In recognition of the incredible effort and support, over the years members of the group have received invitations to not only St James’ Palace, but to the Houses of Parliament too!
Norfolk and Suffolk Fundraising Manager, Karl Coppack, praises the group “I’m often astounded by the determination and creativity of our Fakenham group. Their work rate, verve and joy are truly inspiring. They’re absolutely fantastic!”
Thank you to the Fakenham group for being such huge supporters of BHF, every pound you help raise is making a huge difference to advancing our lifesaving research.
