Fundraising groups
Joining a fundraising group is an easy way to raise money for BHF while having fun and making friends. Find out how to join your local group or get help to start your own.
About our fundraising groups
Our fundraising groups are formed of volunteers who want to raise money for lifesaving heart research in their local community. They also act as ambassadors for our charity and support the work we do.
Our local fundraising groups work to:
- organise and take part in local fundraising events
- support national fundraising campaigns, such as Heart Month
- inspire local people, schools and businesses to fundraise for us.
Can anyone get involved?
Fundraising group members come from many walks of life, all united by a passion for our cause. But you do not need a personal connection to our charity or any specific skills to get involved.
Group members give their time for many reasons, such as meeting people, making friends and giving back to their local community.
Our fundraising groups usually meet once a month to plan activities. You can take part in whatever way best suits your interest and skills. You’ll also be supported every step of the way by your local Fundraising Manager.
Join or start your own group
If you’d like to join a group, you’ll need to find out if there’s one in your community. Search our directory to find a fundraising group near you.
You’ll then need to contact your local Fundraising Manager to let them know you want to join. If there isn’t a group in your area, they can let you know if one opens. They can also offer support to help you start your own group.
The difference one local group can make
Pat Churnside founded the Amber Valley Fundraising Group after losing her parents to heart disease at a young age. From tombolas to swimathons, the group have raised a significant amount for BHF and Pat’s efforts even won her an award.
