Volunteer single-handedly raises funds for BHF in Orkney

Thank you to Kate Elliot - our top Hearty mascot of the North!

We wanted to celebrate one of our most hardworking and committed volunteers, Kate Elliot.

Kate first started her BHF adventure by volunteering at the shop in Glasgow but has since turned her hand to fundraising (and wearing our Hearty mascot costume with such grace!).

Based in Orkney, situated off the north-eastern coast of Scotland, she has single-handedly raised £4,594.75 this financial year. From bucket collections in Orkney and mainland Scotland, to Kilt Walks, there isn’t a day that goes by where she hasn’t banked some money for BHF.

Joanna Shaw, Fundraising Manager North of Scotland and Islands, says “not only is Kate out and about continuously fundraising for BHF, but she does this with such positivity. I love it when I get an update from Kate as she always sends a joke along with it, which makes my day.”

Kate has also been praised that despite solo, juggling other charity work and nature conservation, she has been bringing as much as some of the fundraising groups!

Thank you Kate for your continued support for British Heart Foundation.
