The CPR Hero Award celebrates those who have shown incredible courage and bravery by attempting to save a person’s life from cardiac arrest through performing CPR. Discover our incredible 2025 CPR Heroes.

If you were planning to submit a nomination but didn’t manage to, we’d love to hear from you when nominations for 2027 open towards the end of this year.

If you did nominate someone, bear with us. It can take us a few months to review the nominations, so don’t worry if you do not hear back from us for a little while. We will be in touch about your CPR Hero nomination.

Discover some of the incredible stories of our CPR Heroes who bravely stepped in to help save a life from cardiac arrest.

Hannah and Polly Cooke

Hannah was woken by the barking of her golden retriever, Polly, who was alerting her that her husband Adam was having a heart attack. Hannah immediately called 999 and performed lifesaving CPR until the ambulance arrived.

Andy Palmer

After having a sudden cardiac arrest while working at PureGym, Andy would then perform lifesaving CPR and defibrillation to a fellow gym member just 18 months later, in a remarkable twist of fate.

Jim Stuart-Young

Gemma’s life was saved by her husband Jim after she had a cardiac arrest during a family skiing holiday in Austria. Thanks to Jim’s CPR training through his work, he immediately recognised the emergency and performed CPR for around 20 minutes until paramedics arrived from Innsbruck Hospital.
