Join us, and thousands of other runners, at the 2017 Bournemouth Bay Run. With four distances to choose from, there really is something for everyone. Take on the stunning half marathon route, 10k race, or get the whole family involved in the 5k or 1k fun run.

On the day sign up is available for the 1K and 5K runs only. Please go to the sign up tent in the Event Village at Pier Approach.

By car

There are plenty of car parks in the town centre, which is near Bournemouth pier. Follow parking signs once you reach the town centre.

By public transport

Bournemouth rail and bus stations are a 20 minute walk away, or just a five minute taxi ride.

These are challenging runs and you'll need to have a good level of fitness to take part. Plan your training with expert tips and advice in our running training zone.

Make sure you have the right kit

Take a look at our recommended running kit list for what to wear on the day and what to bring with you. Or go to our online shop for some branded clothing. 

You'll receive your participant number in the post just before the event.

Get your family and friends involved

Your family and friends could be part of the action as well. Why not ask them to take part with you, or they could come and help on the day. Volunteers are vital in making our events a success.

As long as you have your participant number attached to your top and your timing chip, there is no need to check in when you arrive. But there will be an information desk should you need any assistance. 

The Routes

Participants will receive a route map in their race pack. You can also download route maps from the Bournemouth Bay Run website.

General facilities 

All site facilities including the Information Office, luggage marquee, t-shirt collection and sponsors area will be situated close to the start/finish area. Facilities will be signposted and marshals visible onsite to assist you. If you plan on using the luggage facility, please remember to attach the luggage tag (sent in your pack).  

The run is fully marshalled with first aid cover on hand. Ensure your emergency contact information is filled out on the back of your participant number.

Public toilets for runners and spectators are dotted along the route. Please stick to pavements as much as possible, especially where no road closures are in place.

Spectators are welcome to come and cheer on the runners. 


Chip timing results will be available to download 24 hours after the event.
