Expression of Interest to become a peer reviewer and/or Committee member
As an independent expert peer reviewer or a member of a funding committee, you will have the opportunity to contribute to how grant funding recommendations are made using your expertise. You will hear about a broad range of novel cardiovascular research. See our funding opportunities and funding committees for more information and previous awards for a list of awards we’ve funded.
Expression of interest to become an independent expert reviewer
- You may be invited to review if your expertise is relevant to an application.
- You will be expected to review according to our guidelines.
Expression of interest to become a committee member
- Committee members have typically contributed to BHF funding recommendations as an independent reviewer.
- New appointments are made for 3 years in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for another year. Depending on the funding committee, you will be required to commit to 2-4 committee days per year (excluding preparation time), with each meeting lasting from 10am to 4pm and may also be asked to sit on an interview panel.
How to submit an expression of interest to become an independent expert reviewer
To apply you will need to email the following to [email protected] with the subject line Reviewer EOI:
- A 2-page CV including relevant reviewing experience or committee membership, funding and publication and/or other output track record.
- Up to 10 key words or phrases highlighting your expertise. Please see our subject code list for BHF specific research classifications.
- A short statement (200-300 words) describing your reasons and motivation for applying.
There are no closing dates.
We will acknowledge receipt of your interest and keep your contact details on file for when appropriate opportunities arise.
How to submit an expression of interest to become a committee member
To apply you will need to email the following to [email protected] with the subject line Committee member EOI:
- A 2-page CV outlining relevant reviewing experience or committee membership, funding and publication and/or other output track record.
- Up to 10 key words or phrases highlighting your expertise. Please see our subject code list for BHF specific research classifications.
- Specify which one of our five BHF funding committees you are interested in joining and why (200-300 words).
There are no closing dates.
We will acknowledge receipt of your interest, but please note that other factors such as existing skill mix in the committee, gender, geographic location, and groups that are underrepresented will also be taken into account when considering a new committee member.
