Our Health Charity partnership has been named the ‘most admired’ in the C&E Advisory’s 2024 Corporate–Non-Profit Partnerships Barometer report.
For the second year running the C&E Advisory’s 2024 Corporate–Non-Profit Partnerships Barometer revealed our partnership with Tesco, Cancer Research UK, and Diabetes UK as the most admired by partnership professionals.
Launched in 2018 the collaboration between Tesco and its charity partners is unique, helping the nation to improve our health under its strap line ‘Helping you to live healthier’. Since its inception it has delivered health insights and interventions relating to cardiovascular disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes and raised over £29 million for the three charities.
‘Helping you live healthier’
Commenting on behalf of the charities Cancer Research UK’s chief executive, Michelle Mitchell, said,
“Through our partnership with Tesco, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK, we’ve been able to combine our expertise to tackle the nation’s biggest health challenges. Together, we’ve empowered communities to lead healthier lives by sharing information and support about cancer, heart and circulatory diseases and type 2 diabetes. This award is a testament to the important work that we’ve done and is only made possible thanks to the support provided by Tesco.”
'Let's Talk'
In 2022, we launched ‘Let's Talk’. A joint initiative delivering specialist training to Tesco pharmacists to support their conversations with customers. Through the programme, Tesco pharmacists and pharmacy colleagues across more than 220 sites increased their knowledge of diabetes, cancer and heart and circulatory diseases by completing a range of e-learning modules, enabling them to provide further information, resources and support to help reduce people’s risk of developing these health conditions.
Christine Heffernan, Group Communications Director, Tesco said: “We’re incredibly proud to work with the UK’s leading health charities on making a difference to the health of our customers and colleagues. It is testament to the strength of the partnership that we have been recognised two years in a row by the C&E Barometer for our work with long-standing partners, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and Diabetes UK who share our ambition to make a positive contribution to the communities we serve. I’d like to thank them for their ongoing support as we continue to help our customers and colleagues to live healthier”.'Every Minute Matters'
Thanks to the amazing launch activity, our partnership with Sky Bet also landed a top 12 spot on this list!
Launched in May this year with the groundbreaking Every Minute Matters campaign, our partnership with Sky Bet is on a mission to donate up to £3 million to the charity and to encourage 270,000 people to learn CPR – equivalent to three Wembley Stadiums.
So far nearly 70,000 people have started to learn CPR using the BHF’s RevivR online tool. An incredible £380,000 was raised through goals scored during the Sky Bet Play-Offs in May.
Since then, Sky Bet has strengthened its support for the campaign by pledging to donate £10,000 to our cause for every stoppage-time winner scored across games in the EFL’s Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two this season, with £50,000 already raised.
