This year has been the hardest in our 60-year history. In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, we need the public’s support more than ever to enable us to continue our life saving research and provide vital support to the 7.4 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases.
You can help heal hearts this Christmas by taking part in one of our festive fundraisers:
1. Shop to help save lives
Get into the festive spirit with our selection of brand new and affordable Christmas cards and gifts online. The range of cards are perfect for sending handwritten festive wishes to your loved ones, or if you’re searching for Christmas decorations or gifts there’s everything from ornaments and candles to cushions, mugs and more.
With a different Christmas ahead for many of us, we’re calling on shoppers to show their support by buying a festive gift from us to help raise much needed funds for vital heart research. Although charity shops in England are currently closed, you can find an array of sought-after items on our eBay and Depop stores for some truly unique gifts for loved ones this year. You can share your finds on social media using the hashtag #BoughtAtBHF.
2. Saddle up in the New Year for a new challenge
Kick off 2021 by pedalling to success with our MyCycle challenge. Sign up, saddle up and help us continue our life saving research. It doesn’t matter if you’re on your own or part of a team; at home, in the gym or out on the road, each challenge can be completed in your own time over the course of 30 days. Cyclists who raise £150 or more for us will receive an exclusive MyCycle medal to celebrate their achievement! Get on your bike and start riding to build up the miles and help us by visiting: MyCycle
3. Donate your Tesco Clubcard points
Tesco customers can donate their Clubcard vouchers to us for the rest of this year. Up until 1st January 2021, every £0.50 in vouchers can be transformed into a £0.50 charitable spend. Simply pick the amount of Clubcard vouchers you wish to donate & select the BHF via the Tesco website and you’ll receive an email within 30 minutes informing you that your donation to life saving research has been successful.
4. Post to donate
Decluttering ahead of Christmas? You can donate your good quality, unwanted items quickly and easily by post, to prevent them from going to waste and to show your support for us when it needs it most. You can now send your smaller items, such as branded clothing, jewellery, vinyl records and cameras, using our freepost donation service. Simply download your free label and post at your nearest Collect+ drop-off point while visiting for essential shopping purposes.
5. Give a gift that will last a lifetime
Looking to give a gift that means a little more this Christmas? Why not give a gift that will leave your loved one with a legacy for years to come? For £20 you can have the name of a loved one engraved on our iconic Heart of Steel sculpture. Standing at 2.4 metres high there are approximately 150,000 spaces on the Heart for people to make their mark by engraving the name of parent, grandparent, sibling or best friend.
