We have developed a dashboard to demonstrate how many deaths could be prevented in 2035 if the 2024 cardiovascular disease (CVD) premature mortality rates are cut by 25%.

To highlight the impact this could have in Wales, this dashboard shows the number of deaths prevented in 2035 from CVD in each local authority. It also highlights the estimated number of CVD deaths that we could see in 2035 if the current mortality trends continue. You can also view the dashboard data in table format.
These projections demonstrate the hundreds of deaths that could be prevented in 2035, if action is taken now. The next Welsh Government must prioritise prevention, care and insight, as highlighted in BHF Cymru’s Prescription for Welsh Hearts, to tackle cardiovascular disease, ease pressures on the Welsh NHS and create a healthier Wales for future generations.
