Following Volunteers Week (1-7 June), we have outlined the changes needed to help maximise the benefits of volunteering across the sector. Among our calls, we recommend that third sector organisations develop systems to allow volunteers to move easily between charitable organisations, supported by a recommitment from Government to improve the collection of sector data around volunteering and participation.

This Student Volunteering Week (7th - 13th February 2022), we are encouraging students across the UK to volunteer at their local BHF shop.

Our national survey reveals young people are more interested in volunteering than any other age group, despite what people might think. Our report also uncovers the personal benefits of volunteering, such as tackling loneliness, improving mental health and providing valuable work experience.
