Registration for this event will close when it reaches capacity. We cannot guarantee that on the day registration will be available, and in the event that it is, entries will be charged at a higher fee. It is therefore strongly recommend that anyone wishing to take part avoids disappointment and signs up as soon as possible.

Use your pedal power to save lives
Completely planned, organised and managed by the British Heart Foundation, this event exists in order to raise funds for our life saving research. You’ll start this fantastic adventure right on the sea front at Martello Fields, climbing up the chalky cliff tops to see the stunning views from the Seaford Cliffs. From there we you’ll take in more of the coastline, as you’ll cycle on private trails, opened especially for this event. Making your way around some beautiful locations including Beachy Head, Pevensey, Eastbourne and Peacehaven this ride will be a physical challenge, especially for people new to mountain biking, but it will be one of the most beautiful rides you’ll take part in this year.
For the more experienced rider, choose an extra 10 miles of riding as we take you on an adrenaline pumping technical ride through the popular mountain bike trails of Friston Forest.
Finishing where you set off, you’ll be welcomed back to a bubbling event site, filled with lots of activities, food and entertainment as we’ll try to create a finish line fit for a champion!
This route is being designed exclusively for the British Heart Foundation by Rough Ride Guide.
For the 35 mile route, the terrain will not be overly technical – meaning that the event will be suitable for mountain biking beginners. However don’t mistake this for an easy ride, it will be physically tough and there will be a number of brutal climbs that will test the calves of even the most experienced rider – but the views at the top will be worth it.
The additional 10 miles will be a lot more technical, suiting more experienced riders looking for a mixture of beautiful views and some adrenaline fuelled trails.
More information about the route will be added soon including maps, GPX files and terrain profiles.
Make sure you have the right kit
If you're not sure what to wear on the day and what you need to bring with you, take a look at our recommended cycling kit list. You'll receive your participant number in the post just before the event.
Toilets will be available at the start, every rest stop and at the finish.
Mobile cycle repair will also be available along the route and will be stationed at water stops.
There will also be hot drinks and food purchasable from the start, finish and at some rest stops.
Bring your cheerleaders
Don’t fancy a ride? There will be plenty of things to do at the event site and we want as many people as possible to come down and cheer our participants through the finish line! Wear your best red outfit and get your cheers ready!
