Giving Stroke survivors new hope

Our researchers are fighting to find new treatments for people like Russell

Stroke: little or no hope

1.3 million people in the UK have survived a stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA). For many of them, there is no treatment to limit the damage stroke causes to the brain.

We are fighting to find answers

Across the UK British Heart Foundation researchers are determined to find new treatments for stroke.

Why do we care about stroke?

We're funding £16.5 million of research into stroke, making us one of the largest independent funders in the UK.
