Launching this World Heart Day, 29th September, The Hidden Heart will be presented by journalist and television presenter, Louise Minchin from the ITN London Studio.

The programme will explore hidden heart conditions, innovations in research and new treatments. It will also provide education around signs and symptoms of different heart conditions.

Dan Geneen, Head of Mass Fundraising Acquisition Marketing at the British Heart Foundation said: "We’re delighted to be working with ITN to shine a spotlight on hidden heart conditions and future lifesaving advances.

"The BHF is at the forefront of innovations in research to find treatment and cures which could help transform the lives of the millions of people living with heart and circulatory disease in the UK and generations to come.”

'Shining a spotlight on those at the forefront of research'

Today there are around 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart or circulatory disease, and many more who are but don’t even know it yet because their condition is hidden or silent.

Nina Harrison-Bell, Head of ITN Business said “With one death every three minutes attributed to cardiovascular disease, The Hidden Heart will share powerful stories to reassure individuals that they are not alone and to shine a light on the amazing work being done to advance diagnosis and treatments.”

The programme will also hear from companies at the forefront of developments within cardiology and will celebrate the inspirational work being done in the field.
