Our British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland home and home & fashion stores will reopen their doors at 10am on Monday 5th April, following lockdown.
James Jopling, Head of BHF Scotland, said: “We are thrilled to get our home stores back up and running across Scotland next week and look forward to welcoming our customers, staff and volunteers through the doors. As we reopen, our number one priority will be ensuring the safety of everyone who shops, works and volunteers with us.
“We’re urging people to support us by visiting their local store to snap up a bargain and donate items that we can turn into vital funds. Our fashion shops on the high street will remain closed at this time until further guidance that they can reopen.
"Every item sold can help us to support the 700,000 people living with heart and circulatory disease across Scotland and aid our recovery from the devastating impact of the pandemic.”
Our charity shops
In line with Government guidelines our home stores in Scotland will reopen with safety measures in place. These include social distancing on the shop floor, screens at till points and hand sanitiser available to customers. We would also ask customers to ensure they are wearing a face covering unless exempt for medical reasons.
Our shops in England, Wales and Northern Ireland remain closed at this time. If you have questions about a collection or purchase or would like to check if your local shop is now open, please head to our dedicated customer service page.
Donations are welcome
Our home stores in Scotland will welcome donations over the coming days; you can arrange a Covid-secure home collection online or via your local store from Tuesday 6th April and have your items picked up free of charge. We welcome sofas, beds, bookcases, tables and chairs, homeware, TVs and other electricals in working order.
Across Scotland and the UK, you can also post your smaller items such as branded clothing, jewellery, vinyl records and cameras, using our freepost donation service. Download your freepost label and head to your nearest Collect+ drop-off point with your unwanted items.
Once reopen, we will be welcoming new volunteers to come and support us. Head to bhf.org.uk/volunteer to register your interest or contact your local shop if they are open.
Your support is needed more than ever
The coronavirus crisis has had a devastating impact on the BHF’s income, cutting our ability to fund research in half and putting future life saving discoveries at risk. We are urgently appealing for your support as we reopen our shops and stores, helping us raise vital funds at a time when hearts need help more than ever.
