Temporary closure of our shops across all four nations of the UK

In line with new Government guidelines, a number of our shops across England will be closed from 2pm on Christmas Eve.  

On Sunday, following the Prime Minister’s announcement, 152 of our shops and stores across London and the south-east, temporarily closed. This was in line with the latest decision to move those areas into Level 4 restrictions. Our Wales shops also closed following guidance from the Welsh First Minister on non-essential retail. 

Now, following a new announcement that more areas of England will enter Tier 4 on Boxing Day, our shops across Sussex, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hampshire and parts of Essex and Surrey will also temporarily close from today, in order to keep staff, volunteers and customers safe from the continued spread of Covid-19. Our Scotland and Northern Ireland shops will also temporarily close at the same time. 

Shops in England Tiers 1-3 will remain open from December 28th and our online stores are also operating as usual, to help continue to raise vital funds for research into heart and circulatory diseases.   

Allison Swaine-Hughes our Retail Director said: “Along with other non-essential shops across the UK that are affected by the latest announcements, sadly our doors have to close for now. But during this time, you can still show your support by shopping online and posting us your unwanted items. There are around 7.4 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK and every item you buy or donate to us helps make a difference.”
