Gogglebox family smiling on sofa Alex Michael, from hit TV series, Gogglebox, is lacing up her walking boots as she gets set to walk from London to Brighton in one of our toughest challenges.

Alex will join around 1,000 people on our London to Brighton trek over 25 - 26 June. The Brighton-based reality TV star has 30 hours to complete the challenge as she helps raise vital funds for our life saving research.

She is taking on the gruelling challenge as her family has a long history of heart disease. Her father Andrew, who also appears on the Channel 4 programme, has suffered from several angina attacks and had a stent fitted in 2007. Also, Alex’s grandfather died of dilated cardiomyopathy in 1993 when Alex was just two years old.

Alex said: "The BHF’s London to Brighton trek is an event I’ve wanted to take part in for a couple of years now, so I’m really excited. I’ve never walked this distance before but it’s all for an amazing cause that’s close to my heart. My dad is just one out of 2.3million people living with coronary heart disease in the UK today, so I’m proud to say I’m doing my bit to help fund the BHF’s life saving research."

Walk for research

There’s still time to join Alex and sign up for the BHF’s London to Brighton Trek. Whether you want to walk the full 100km or one of our two 50km courses, this event is the ultimate walking experience.
