What is the group all about?
We are an exercise and support group run by ex-cardiac patients. We work primarily with people recovering from coronary heart disease and/or heart surgery as well as those who have been diagnosed with heart, breathing or associated health conditions. We do this by the provision of supervised remedial and therapeutic exercise sessions as well as offering advice and support. Our exercise sessions are a natural and accepted progression from the work done as part of the rehabilitation process started in hospital. We run supervised group exercise sessions twice a week, aimed to facilitate recovery from cardiac conditions, rehabilitation from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and for maintaining physical health and wellbeing. These sessions comprise a range of exercises using a number of different pieces of equipment performed in a safe, supportive and friendly environment.
We meet on Tuesdays 4pm-7pm and Thursdays 5pm-8pm for one hour exercise sessions. There is free parking for centre users and is a ten minute walk from South Wimbledon Underground station
