What is this group all about?
For more than 30 years, the Newport Heart Support Group has provided tutor-led exercise sessions for individuals recovering from heart surgery and related conditions. Membership is primarily based on referrals from the St Woolos Hospital Rehab Unit, but it is open to anyone.
The group meets every Monday from 10-11am at Alway Community Centre. Recently, the group has expanded its scope to support patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery, as well as those managing arthritis and osteoporosis.
Membership costs £2.50 per session.
