Our vision for EDI

As the UK’s largest independent funder of cardiovascular research, we’re committed to tackling inequality at all levels of our work. Our vision is for equality, diversity, and inclusion to run across our workforce, our supporters, our researchers, and every single person affected by heart and circulatory diseases.

We’ve come a long way since launching our first EDI strategy, Igniting Change, in 2022. Not only have we worked hard to address inequalities in heart health, we have also improved representation in research and created a more diverse and inclusive workforce.

But there’s much more to do. To stay on track, we’ve identified long-term objectives along with specific goals and activities. These will enable us to take concrete steps while maintaining accountability when we review our progress each year.

While pay gaps have narrowed, there's more to do at senior levels, with our refreshed EDI ambitions guiding the next chapter beyond 2025.
