From upcycling a pre-loved piece of furniture to refreshing a whole room or space, we are encouraging interiors enthusiasts, bargain hunters and those on a budget to get involved and head to one of our 180 furniture stores across England, Scotland and Wales this autumn to bag a bargain, and give your home a seasonal update. Don't forget to share your new looks on social media with the #BoughtatBHF hashtag.

As well as challenging the nation to get involved, we also tasked four pairs of leading interior designers and upcyclers to take on their biggest challenge yet - creating an entire room on a budget, using only items they could find in their local British Heart Foundation store.

Creating a living room, a main bedroom, a children’s bedroom and a dining room, the four creative teams had just ten hours from start to finish to put together their vision; battling against the clock in the Changing Room’s style race against time. Each design duo was given a budget of just £500 to create their room and give it its own unique style, to demonstrate how easy it is to give a space a seasonal overhaul.

Max McMurdo and assistant Phillip Ely, Interior Style Hunter’s Grant Pierrus and design pal Girl About House aka Sarah Mailer, Forward Features duo David White and Mark Russell and Sharp & Simpson’s Micaela Sharp and design partner Beth Clancy scoured their local British Heart Foundation furniture stores to find the best bargains to transform their spaces.

Linda Barker - Interior design expert and TV presenter - said, "British Heart Foundation stores are a real treasure trove of hidden gems and a great place to get inspired when giving your home a fresh new look. Whether upcycling a vintage piece of furniture or simply adding some new accessories, you can give a space a makeover without having to break the bank – all while helping raise funds for life saving heart research."

Offering furniture and electrical goods, new and used home wares and stylish homes accessories, every item sold in our stores will help to raise funds for research into heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia and diabetes. Last year, our furniture stores sold over 140,000 donated sofas, which went towards raising more than £25 million for the charity’s vital work.

Allison Swaine-Hughes, Retail Director at the BHF said, “With the cooler months just around the corner, autumn is the ideal time to give your home a refreshing update. We know our shoppers have got stacks of creativity, so we want to see the fantastic ways they’ve been furnishing their homes – from upcycling furniture to transforming rooms with key new pieces - all while helping raise funds for life-saving heart research.”

Our furniture and home stores offer the perfect solution for students, first time buyers and savvy shoppers seeking affordable home wares, with sofas from £95 and wardrobes from £40.
