I believe style is however you feel to express yourself from one day to the next, fashion rules are sometimes made to be broken.
When the BHF asked me to do a feature on Fascinators I was really excited. These little pieces of head art can be worn whenever and your mood is instantly lifted when placed on your head! I like to call it “The Fascinating Fascinator Effect”.
Fascinators are stereotypically worn at the races or at a wedding. Ladies day at the races are always eagerly anticipated, from the array of new season colours to all the new shapes and sizes, but why not also wear a fascinator for other events like a girly night out like Indio and Chelle’s looks shown.
I wanted to show how you can wear fascinators for more than just going to the races or weddings so decided to style looks for a ‘girly evening out’
The outfits were found in my local BHF shops Wilmslow and Chorlton, who were both very helpful warm and friendly.
We found great brands such as ASOS and pretty little thing.
Whilst out and about during our photoshoot we were amazed by the number of compliments from a mixed and diverse range of people. I heard various comments that most people would not have thought to add a fascinator to an outfit for this type of occasion. With these great looks we’ve shown that fascinators can be worn on an evening out and even at parties, graduations, christenings....it’s totally up to you.
As a stylist, I often shop on behalf of clients for headpieces, which can be a challenge as they are either very pricey or the range is minimal. So to hear that the BHF has a whole range of fascinators was music to my ears.
