Join as a volunteer and gain new skills

Volunteering with us can give you the skills, confidence and experience you need to build your CV and boost your employability. Problem solving, communication, working with others and familiarity with the workplace are universally valued by employers.

Build your CV and gain confidence

  • Volunteering in our shops provides the opportunity to develop skills in all aspects of retail, including working at the cash desk, online selling, visual merchandising, warehousing and many more.
  • Fundraising volunteering roles offer a variety of opportunities to help build your CV with experiences in community awareness and engagement, event coordination and logistics, volunteer recruitment and of course raising vital funds.
  • We work in partnership with Job Centre Plus to offer suitable work experience for job seekers.
Volunteering might be seen as something you do when you retire. But for me, volunteering at the BHF has helped start my life. I have had access to training, built my confidence in ways I never imagined and met new, life long friends.”
Kira Blake, 25, BHF volunteer
