Creating a fundraising page on JustGiving is a great way to share your event, encourage donations from supporters and keep everyone informed about your progress. Whether you’re fundraising as an individual, team or company, we can help you get started.

Create a JustGiving page

It’s easy to set up an individual JustGiving page for your fundraising event or activity. Simply follow these steps to get started:

  2. Log in to your account or create a new account if you do not have one.
  3. Choose your fundraising activity, or select ‘Doing your own thing’.
  4. Choose your web address - this is the link that you’ll share with supporters.
  5. Click 'Create your page' and start personalising it.

JustGiving have also created a video guide to help you set up your page.

Tips for a successful page

We've put together some tips to help you reach your fundraising target and get the most out of your JustGiving page.

1. Share the reason you’re fundraising

Grab attention by adding your reasons for fundraising to the top of your page. It’s the first thing your visitors will read and could help boost your donations.

2. Add photos, videos and livestreams

Fundraising pages with visual content often raise more money. It’s easy to link your JustGiving page to streaming platforms like YouTube.

Keep your JustGiving page vibrant and engaging by regularly updating it with new photos and videos as you prepare for your event. Remember to share updates and highlights once your event is over. This will inspire more donations, even after your event has ended.

3. Connect your fitness apps

If you’re participating in a physical activity for your fundraiser, you can easily connect your Strava or FitBit account to your JustGiving page. This allows you to share your training photos, maps and mileage, showcasing your dedication to the cause. Sharing these updates is a fantastic way to engage your supporters and keep them interested in your fundraising journey.

4. Set a fundraising target

Setting a target is really important as it gives you and your supporters something to aim for. It’s also satisfying to watch yourself get closer to your goal. On average, those who set a target raise up to 46% more money.

5. Donate to yourself and ask for support

Donating to your own fundraising shows your passion for the cause and can raise 54% more money. Friends and family often give more than acquaintances, so getting their support first is a good way to encourage others to do the same.

You can also add Gift Aid to your donation and ask others to do the same. Adding Gift Aid to a donation boosts it by 25% at no extra cost.

6. Set fundraising challenges

Attach certain actions to amounts raised. For example, tell your supporters that if you raise £500, you’ll dress up as a barnyard animal for a day, or, if you reach £1,000, you’ll shave your head. This will also make great photos to add to your page!

7. Include your offline donations

Remember to add your offline fundraising donations to your total. It will help keep everyone updated on how well your fundraising journey is going.

To increase your offline donations, you can download extra sponsorship forms and share them with your friends, family and colleagues.

8. Update your page regularly

Remember to post regular updates about your fundraising. It encourages people to revisit your page and they may even share it with their friends.

9. Share your page on social media

Share updates to your page on your social media channels, by email and however else you're keeping your supporters up to date.

Consider refreshing your social media profile picture too, to let everyone know you’re fundraising for BHF. We have resources you can share on social media.

10. Collaborate with your workplace

Check to see if your workplace has a JustGiving company profile. If they do, linking up with them has the potential to boost your donations by up to 20%.

You can also ask your employer if they are part of the Matched Giving scheme. Many companies participate in this and will match the amount you raise, doubling your contribution.
