Edinburgh Marathon Festival Half Marathon

Take part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, Scotland's largest running event, with over 35,000 runners and 100,000 spectators enjoying eleven different race distances over two days. The half marathon starts on Potterrow with backdrop of The University of Edinburgh's McEwan Hall, and the route will take you on a journey past many iconic sights of the city.

Charity places

Our Charty places for 2026 are now live! 

If you're offered a charity place, you'll need to pay an entry fee of £20 and commit to raising a fundraising target of £250. Your charity place with us includes entry into the event plus additional benefits.

Own place entry

If you’ve already got a place for Edinburgh Marathon Festival Half Marathon, you can still sign up to run and fundraise for BHF. There’s no entry fee and no fundraising goal. You'll still receive all the same benefits and support as a charity place runner.
