Dr Dan and Dr Raph Olaiya announced as BHF Ambassadors

We’re delighted to announce Dr Dan and Dr Raph Olaiya, as our new Ambassadors.

The O-Twins, known to millions of children as presenters of CBBC’s BAFTA award-winning Operation Ouch!, have supported our cause for the past three years—most notably as the charismatic, dynamic and vibrant hosts of our Young Heart Hero Awards.

They brought the energy and enthusiasm to this year’s awards at London’s Paradox Museum on 25 September, as Dr Dan and Dr Raph celebrated inspiring children affected by cardiovascular disease. The pair presented awards, met families, posed for photographs and even joined the young heroes on stage for a spontaneous dance!

The doctors, who work on the NHS frontline and regularly care for young patients with heart conditions, said the day was one they would never forget.

Dr Dan Olaiya said: “We love supporting the Young Heart Hero Awards. It’s such a fun event and seeing the children light up as they accept their awards is heartwarming. We’re thrilled to support the BHF as Ambassadors.”

First-hand experience

Dr Raph Olaiya added: "We're incredibly proud to become British Heart Foundation Ambassadors. As doctors, we've seen first-hand the impact cardiovascular disease can have on children and families, and we're passionate about supporting the lifesaving research that's helping to improve and save lives.”

Our Director of Partnership & Relationship Fundraising, and honorary Director of Fun for the Young Heart Hero Awards Teresa Hicks said: “The O-Twins have been incredible supporters of the BHF, and I’m absolutely delighted to welcome them as our newest Ambassadors. It’s always a joy to host the Young Heart Hero Awards alongside them. They bring such warmth and energy to the event, make every young winner feel truly special and are great fun to work with.
Being able to celebrate their announcement as BHF ambassadors at this year’s Awards made an already special occasion even more memorable.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to the O-Twins, and to all our ambassadors, for their continued dedication and support of the BHF helping to.”

This November, we’ll celebrate our Heart Hero Awards and recognise the remarkable people whose invaluable support helps us save and improve lives.
