To mark Heart Month, we’re proud to be working with Tom Lockyer and Panini on a special limited‑edition football sticker — celebrating Tom’s remarkable return to the pitch and supporting our lifesaving work.

The Bristol Rovers defender knows first‑hand how quickly cardiac arrest can strike. In December 2023, Tom collapsed mid‑match after suffering a cardiac arrest. Thanks to the fast actions of bystanders and club medics, who performed CPR and used a defibrillator, Tom survived.
After spending time in hospital and having an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) fitted, Tom began a long road to recovery. Now back playing professional football, he’s using his experience to help inspire more people to learn CPR and feel confident stepping in during a medical emergency.
Through its partnership with the English Football League (EFL), Panini has created a limited run of shiny Tom Lockyer stickers. These will be exclusively available to fans attending Bristol Rovers’ home match against Grimsby Town on 21 February.

Fans who receive a sticker are encouraged to make a voluntary donation in support of our work — helping to fund our vital research into heart and circulatory diseases and lifesaving CPR training.
Our ambassador, Tom Lockyer said: “I’m delighted to be partnering with Panini to bring this limited‑edition shiny sticker to Rovers and EFL fans. It’s even better that we’re doing this to support the British Heart Foundation, of which I’m a proud ambassador. I hope fans enjoy adding this to their collections, all whilst helping the amazing work the BHF does.”
CPR saves lives
Every 90 minutes — the length of a football match — at least seven people in the UK suffer an out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrest. Tragically, fewer than one in ten survive, often because people nearby don’t feel confident performing CPR or using a defibrillator.
That’s why initiatives like this matter. Funds raised through this campaign will help us power research and teach more people the skills they need to save a life.

Louise Gallard, our Fundraising Manager for Bristol, Bath and Gloucestershire, said: “A cardiac arrest is the ultimate medical emergency, and Tom’s story shows just how suddenly it can strike.
“His recovery has become one of football’s most powerful reminders of the importance of learning CPR. This special Panini sticker isn’t just a collector’s item — it’s a chance to spark conversations, raise vital funds this Heart Month, and help more people be ready to save a life.”
Our free online CPR training tool, RevivR, can teach you CPR in just 15 minutes — the length of half‑time — all you need is a cushion and a smartphone.
