Chris joined us in July 2025 to drive forward our digital transformation projects that include introducing cloud-based technology, greater use of AI and the connection and streamlining of multiple systems.

Chris said: “I love that BHF is hugely ambitious with its technology agenda and how we can use it to drive supporter engagement and the donations that fund our vital heart research. BHF’s mission is clearly so important to everyone who works here.

“I didn’t want to leave part way through the transformation journey, so I’m glad I will now get to see the benefits to colleagues and supporters as they are realised.”

Dr Charmaine Griffiths, our Chief Executive, said: “Chris has quickly established himself as a great executive colleague and technology leader. After a fantastic start, we’re delighted he will now stay with us for the duration of our transformation programme.

“Chris brings decades of experience leading digital transformation across a wide range of leading commercial brands, and that’s helping us enhance our use of technology and maximise our ability to fund life-saving research and support people affected by heart and circulatory diseases.”

A key project for Chris and is team is delivering our multi-year transformation programme, known as Enterprise Foundations.

This will deliver new customer relationship management (CRM) and digital marketing systems as well as replacing all the retail and finance systems that support our 660 stores and online presence.

Chris initially joined us on a one-year interim contract but has now committed to staying with us until the Enterprise Foundations project is complete.

Chris was formerly CTO at the Post Office from August 2023 until October 2024, where he helped build the organisation’s digital presence. He also served as CIO at Dunelm from March 2021 till June 2023, leading major digital and IT initiatives to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

His career spans senior technology roles across the retail and services sectors, working for brands such as Vodafone, EasyJet, and Tesco Bank, with a strong track record of delivering innovation and driving strategic change.
