
Exploring 'The Hidden Heart' this World Heart Day

We have partnered with ITN Business, this World Heart Day, to co-produce an innovative new programme that shines a light on the innovative work happening in the cardiovascular field to offer hope for millions of people in the future.
The programme 'The Hidden Heart' will explore the research and commercial innovations that are tackling hidden heart conditions head on.
Anchored by presenter and journalist Louise Minchin from the ITN London Studio, and will present expert opinions from the our Chief Executive, Dr Charmaine Griffiths, as well as BHF-funded researchers Dr Loreena Hill, who is working to provide resources to patients who live with ICDs (implantable cardioverter defibrillators) small devices that can treat people with dangerously abnormal heart rhythms, and Professor Charalambos Antoniades who is using AI technology to identify those most at risk of heart attacks and help predict them before they happen.
The programme also explores our groundbreaking research at the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, where Professor John Simpson and his team are using cutting edge virtual reality technology to help repair tiny hearts.
