We are urging everyone to learn or refresh their CPR skills this Restart a Heart day - it could equip you with the skills you need to save a loved one’s life.
The annual milestone aims to raise awareness of how cardiac arrests can happen to anyone at any time, and increase the number of people trained in CPR.
Events will take place in person and online across the UK in schools, communities and workplaces. This year, Restart a Heart is focusing on equal access to defibrillators.
With the majority of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happening at home, learning or refreshing CPR this Restart a Heart could equip you with the skills you need to save a loved one’s life.
Our innovative and free digital tool RevivR can teach you CPR and how to use a defibrillator in just 15 minutes.
Alongside our campaign partners Resuscitation Council UK, St John Ambulance, British Red Cross and UK ambulance services, we’re urging everyone to take part in Restart a Heart this year to help build up a nation of lifesavers.
Dr Charmaine Griffiths, our Chief Executive, said: “Restart a Heart is a fantastic opportunity to pick up a new lifesaving skill.
"Every second counts when someone has a cardiac arrest, and we want everyone to have the confidence to do CPR and use a defibrillator in the ultimate medical emergency.
"Our free and innovative RevivR training tool can teach you the lifesaving skill of CPR and how to use a defibrillator in just 15 minutes. You could save a life, a loved one.”
Restart a Heart begins on Monday 16 October and continues throughout the month.
