Our 700 UK shops and stores will be given the option to close for up to two hours on Saturday 6th May so that our colleagues and volunteers can watch His Majesty The King’s Coronation.
Amended opening hours
Saturday 6th May: all shops and stores will open but will be given the option to close for up to two hours to watch the Coronation, from 11am – 1pm. Local notices have been placed in stores that wish to participate.
Sunday 7th May: all shops and stores will close at 2pm to allow our colleagues to attend and participate in local community events.
Monday 8th May: all shops and stores will follow normal bank holiday opening hours. We are also encouraging people to volunteer in our BHF shops and stores as part of The Big Help Out.
Shops and stores will display a customer notice in the window to inform of their amended opening hours over the weekend and online bookings for home collections will be operating on a reduced service. We will be confirming with our customers to ensure they are happy to have a collection or delivery during this time.
Allison Swaine-Hughes, our Retail Director, said: “We recognise that the King’s Coronation will be a special moment for many who work, volunteer or shop within our stores, so we will be making allowance for individual stores to close on Saturday from 11am to 1pm.
“We look forward to welcoming our customers over the bank holiday and also encourage everyone to try their hand at volunteering as part of The Big Help Out. Sign up via our website or pop into your local shop to find out how easy it is to volunteer with us.”
