Participants will be able to choose from a total of 17 charities taking part in our flagship London to Brighton Bike Ride in June.
The charities we’ve partnered with include: Action Medical Research, Alzheimer’s Research, Alzheimer’s Society, CentrePoint, Dementia UK, Epilepsy Society, Get Kids Going, Mind, Marie Curie, NAS, NSPCC, Prostate Cancer Research, Sue Ryder, Target Ovarian Cancer, WaterAid, WellChild and WWF.
Help raise funds for charities across the UK
We hope this years event will raise more than £2.8 million for our own life saving research into heart and circulatory diseases whilst helping to generate vital funding for charities across the UK.
Lee Sumner, London to Brighton Event Manager at the BHF, said: “We’re delighted to announce that the BHF will be offering charities the opportunity to take part in our flagship event. What better way to mark the return of the BHF’s London to Brighton Bike Ride.
“It’s exciting that London to Brighton is back. This is the first time in the event’s history that we’ve been able work with fantastic charities from across the UK. We cannot wait for them to join us, cheering on all the cyclists as they heroically pedal the 54 miles from London to Brighton, all in the name of raising money for great causes and the BHF’s life saving research.”

Landmark year for L2B
Around 16,000 cyclists of all abilities will take on the 54-mile ride starting in Clapham Common, through the beautiful countryside of Surrey and Sussex before crossing the finish line on the historic Brighton seafront.
The ride will finish at Hove Lawns overlooking Brighton seafront, where spectators can cheer on their family and friends as they cross the finish line, before celebrating in our special event village where there will be photo opportunities and a chance for participants to put their feet up after the ride.
Charities involved in the event will be present along the London to Brighton route and at the finish line.
One of the charities taking part for the first time is Alzheimer’s Research UK. Megan Ruddlesden, Sporting Events Manager at Alzheimer’s Research UK, said: “We are delighted to be taking part in the British Heart Foundation’s iconic London to Brighton Bike Ride.
“The vital funds raised by riders will not only help fund the BHF’s lifesaving science but will also help us power world-class studies and make vital breakthroughs for people with dementia. With the help of our amazing supporters, our research will change lives for the better.”
WWF are another charity taking part in the 45th London to Brighton Bike Ride. Aaron Trott, Events Fundraising Manager at WWF UK, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer WWF supporters a chance to take on the British Heart Foundation’s iconic London to Brighton Bike Ride. The money raised will not only help fund the BHF’s lifesaving science but will power our projects which restore nature and protect wildlife across the globe.”
