TV presenter and charity shop fan, Miquita Oliver has joined forces with the BHF, to urge the nation to shop preloved and help raise funds for life saving research.
Preloved style queen, Miquita Oliver is supporting us by encouraging the nation to shop sustainably and start a Reuse Revolution.
This May, we’ve launched our Reuse Revolution campaign, asking shoppers to make preloved purchases as they get back out on the high street and take on a new way to shop that doesn’t cost the earth.
Whether you’re shopping for a wardrobe or home update, you can visit your local BHF shop or browse our online stores to pick-up some unique bargains. We hope to encourage people to take up new sustainable habits which will save money as well as help save lives.
Miquita said: “I’m delighted to be supporting the British Heart Foundation to start a Reuse Revolution. I’m a huge fan of charity shops and love the thrill of finding unique items that no one else has, for a bargain price. I’m passionate about shopping secondhand and want to encourage everyone to join the Reuse Revolution and check out the new donations on offer at BHF shops. The simple act of shopping can help the planet and raise money for a fantastic cause.”
As part of her support for the campaign, Miquita took part in a photoshoot, sporting items she found in her local BHF shops. With an eye for spotting a vintage gem, Miquita found the perfect secondhand outfits to reflect her personal style, including a sleek red silk dress, contemporary tailoring and stylish separates, with outfits starting from around £10.
Miquita’s amazing finds and preloved style showcase the quality, affordable clothing, shoes and jewellery that can be found in charity shops, which also prevents them going to waste.
Allison Swaine-Hughes, Retail Director at the British Heart Foundation, said: “We are delighted to have Miquita’s support. She is truly passionate about shopping preloved and a regular customer of ours. Her fashion-forward looks prove that style doesn’t have to cost the earth and show what amazing vintage treasures you can find in our shops.”
We have 730 shops nationwide and our eBay and Depop stores, which stock a plethora of affordable unique items - from quality, designer clothing to retro sportswear and vintage furniture, as well as one-of-a-kind homewares.
In a year we save 71,000 tonnes of items from going to waste, including 180,000 sofas and 14,000 tonnes of preloved clothes. This helped prevent 135,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions being released into the atmosphere.
Turning reuse into breakthroughs, every item sold in BHF shops or through our online outlets helps raise funds to help support those 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases.
By joining the Reuse Revolution now, you can help the BHF save more items from going to waste and help save lives.
