What is a house clearance?
We clear items and household waste from your property, including sheds and garages.
We also offer a packing service at selected stores and can provide boxes, if needed.
Depending on the condition of your items, we will either sell them in our shops, recycle or dispose of them responsibly. Any items we can sell have the potential to reduce the cost of your clearance and help us fund lifesaving research.
If you only want us to remove a few items that are in a saleable condition, you can book a free home collection.
We know that the reasons for needing a house clearance can be difficult and emotional. We’ll handle the whole process sensitively and treat items with care and respect.
How it works
If you are happy that our house clearance service is right for you and would like to request a quote, here is what to expect:
- Fill in the form to provide us with your details.
- We will contact you to arrange a visit and answer any questions.
- We will visit the property to assess it and confirm what items we can and cannot take.
- We will email you a quote.
- If you are happy with your quote, contact us and we’ll ask for payment in advance so that we can secure your preferred date. We are unable to do clearances on weekends.
How much it costs
The cost of our house clearance service varies, and starts from £400.
When calculating your quote, we consider:
- driver and van costs
- the location of the property
- the size of the clearance
- costs we have to pay to dispose of items like mattresses, white goods and TVs
- the amount of waste
- if you need us to pack your items
- the value of any saleable items.
What we cannot take
There are certain items we cannot take for legal and health and safety reasons:
- oil/chemicals/medical waste
- explosives/ammunition/weapons
- petrol/fuel/petrol machinery
- asbestos
- gas/compressed bottles
- building materials
- garden waste
- insect/vermin infected items.
