The route
The London to Brighton Bike Ride begins in Clapham Common, South London, and finishes on Brighton’s iconic seafront. Covering 54 miles, the majority of the route is on closed, traffic-free, tarmac roads, creating a safe and supportive environment for riders of all abilities.
Along the route, you’ll find regular checkpoints, and plenty of encouragement to keep you going all the way to the finish line.

Start times
The London to Brighton Bike Ride takes place on Sunday 20 June 2027. Start times are staggered every 25 minutes, from 6:00am to 9:00am, to help ensure a smooth and safe experience for all riders.
We’ll send you your allocated start time around a month before the event. This will be based on the estimated finish time you provide when registering, helping to group riders at a similar pace.
Ability level
Whether it’s your first ride or you’re a seasoned cyclist, the London to Brighton Bike Ride is for everyone.
We’ll support you every step of the way, with training plans and top tips to help you prepare for the distance you’re taking on. And on the day, you can take the ride at a pace that works for you - this isn’t a race.
With regular checkpoints, on-route mechanical and medical support, plus our friendly Ride Rangers in every wave, you’ll have everything you need to keep going all the way to Brighton.
Remember, it’s not your wheels: it’s how you use them.
Transporting your bike
We run travel services before and after the ride.
Travel tickets are available to purchase from September 2026 at point of registration, and you can always purchase them later as well. The price of the tickets will be confirmed by September 2026.
The morning services before the ride run from:
- Brighton to London
- Ardingly Showground to London.
The afternoon services after the ride run from:
- Brighton to London
- Brighton to Ardingly Showground.
You will ride by coach, and your bike will be transported by trailer. Morning tickets to the start line are between 4am to 6am, and afternoon tickets after you finish the rider are between 12pm to 8pm.
Transporting your bag
We offer a bag transfer service so you can leave your belongings with us at the start in London, and collect them at the finish line.
Tickets for the bag transfer service will be available to purchase from September 2026 at the point of registration. You’ll also have the option to add this later if needed.

Raise £350 and you’ll receive a red BHF cycling jersey to wear with pride during your training and on the big day. If you raise £1,000, you’ll join our 1,000 Club and receive an exclusive black BHF cycling jersey.

Alongside your JustGiving page, you can also use a sponsorship form to collect offline donations.
If your sponsors are UK taxpayers, remember to ask them to add Gift Aid to their donation. It increases the amount we receive at no extra cost to them.

How long will the ride take me?
Most riders complete the London to Brighton Bike Ride within a day, with plenty of time to take breaks at checkpoints along the way.
How long it takes will depend on your experience, pace and how often you stop to rest, but with the right training and support on the day, it’s an achievable challenge for riders of all abilities.
