The Heart of Steel is a monumental sculpture in Yorkshire with space to engrave 150,000 names. Donate to the British Heart Foundation and your name, or the name of someone you love, can be written on the Heart. Your donations will help fund our research into cures and treatments for heart and circulatory diseases, which kill 1 in 4 people in the UK.
Engrave a name
You can have any name engraved on the Heart of Steel for a minimum donation of £20. You can also put a date, such as the date of a birth, death or marriage, next to a name. Families and friends names can be kept together on the Heart, but each name needs a separate donation.
The idea for the Heart of Steel was born out of another art project in the making; The Steel Man. If it comes to pass, the Steel Man, at 32 metres high, will overlook Sheffield and become a new icon for the region. The long-term hope is that the Heart of Steel will sit inside The Steel Man.
