International Cardiovascular Research Partnership Awards (ICRPA)

2025 Call for Research Proposals from Future Leaders in Cardiovascular Research

Following six successful rounds in 2018 (BHF and DZHK), 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 (BHF, DZHK and DHF) and 2024 (BHF, DZHK, DHF and LDF) that led to joint funding for 19 multinational collaborative projects, we are pleased to announce a seventh round of the International Cardiovascular Research Partnership Awards (ICRPA). The current round, which has an application deadline of 13:00 BST 26th May 2025, maintains the previous rounds’ aim of supporting impactful international collaborations between mid-career investigators who are on a trajectory towards leadership in their fields of cardiovascular research.

About the awards

Together, the British Heart Foundation (BHF), the Dutch Heart Foundation (DHF), the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK), and the Lefoulon-Delalande Foundation (LDF) seek to support ambitious, high-quality projects and foster international cooperation between mid-career investigators with the potential to becoming research leaders in their fields. The scope of the scheme covers innovative research that contributes to improved clinical diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of cardiovascular disease, with strong encouragement for multidisciplinary approaches. Each project must be co-led by at least three independent mid-career Principal Investigators, each based in one of the four participating countries – France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
