The Global Cardiovascular Research Funders Forum

About the Global Cardiovascular Research Funders Forum

Founded in 2018, the Global Cardiovascular Research Funders Forum (GCRFF) is an international partnership of 12 major cardiovascular research funders.

The GCRFF’s mission is to improve global cardiovascular health by accelerating, supporting and promoting transformational international research efforts in heart, stroke and circulatory diseases.

GCRFF workstreams

The GCRFF is actively progressing its efforts through the 3 primary workstreams:

1. Multinational Clinical Trials Initiative

Carrying out clinical trials on a multinational scale has many potential benefits. The Multinational Clinical Trials Initiative is a subgroup of the GCRFF whose aim is to help increase the likelihood of academic-led, multinational cardiovascular clinical trials securing the funding they need to be delivered successfully. Learn more about the Multinational Clinical Trials Initiative.

2. Data and Information Sharing Initiative

Widespread and inclusive data sharing practices are crucial to speed progress towards better cardiovascular health across the world. The GCRFF is working to improve and standardise data sharing among its partners to support both shared and individual research goals – and to expand its global impact. Learn more about the Data and Information Sharing Initiative.

3. Women's Cardiovascular Health Research Initiative

With a focus on global health equity, the GCRFF works collaboratively to share knowledge and best practices, and to better align research agendas to address areas of acute unmet need with global relevance in cardiovascular health. The current focus is on women’s cardiovascular health as a critical shared priority. Learn more about the Women’s Cardiovascular Health Research Initiative.
