In Jersey we have:
- Funded the introduction of two BHF Specialist Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurses at Jersey Hospital between 2010 and 2013, both of whom are continuing their important roles at Jersey Hospital today.
- Funded a new 3D Echo machine at Jersey Hospital in 2008.
- As members of BHF’s UK Alliance Scheme, the BHF cardiac nurses, physiotherapist and 3D Echo Technician in Jersey receive specialist training and qualifications to help patients in Jersey.
- Worked with Jersey Heart Support Group to organise local fundraisers and offer support to the local community
The Jersey Branch was founded in 1972 with the objective of raising funds to support the National Appeal.
Considerable sums have been raised by the Jersey Branch, some of which have been ploughed back into vital equipment required in Jersey in the Coronary Care Unit and the Maternity Hospital.
Our mission is to support the life saving research
of the BHF, so that more Islanders can beat heart disease. It's a big problem, but with your help, we are leading the fight.
Haydn Taylor, Chairman of the Jersey Branch says; "The British Heart Foundation is a charity which makes such an important contribution to British health and indeed that of the Island.
"Whilst local donations, bequests and legacies undoubtedly continue to be a major focus for us, we are keen as a branch to encourage new and exciting fundraising activities and local partnerships."
