Walks and hikes
From
tough hikes up the UK’s highest mountains to
gentle strolls through beautiful parkland, we have
a wide range of fundraising walks to suit walkers of all ages and
abilities.
Put your heart into walking
Whatever your age, size or physical
condition, you are likely to benefit from being more active.
Walking is one of the best ways to get your dose of healthy
activity.
Just 30 minutes of walking spread
throughout the day will help to keep your heart healthy and
strengthen your muscles. It’s easy, and you can do it anywhere, at
any time - either alone or with friends.
Our walking guide
'Put your heart into walking' has practical tips and a
personal walking plan to help you live your life as actively as
possible.
Keep track of your steps with our
pedometer and calorie counter featuring a 7-day total workout
memory recall. For extra help on difficult terrain, our 4-section
telescopic
hiking pole provides you with better balance, traction and
posture.
Love walking
By sparing just a few hours a week we are helping make a difference to the lives of people with heart disease in our local community.
Helen
Wigg and her husband
Graeme, from Weston
Super Mare are keen BHF supporters as their daughter sadly
passed away due to a heart defect three years ago. They recently
organised a three mile sponsored walk along Weston Super Mare’s
seafront.
Helen said: “Having experienced the effects of
heart disease first hand, my husband and I both appreciate that
much more needs to be done in the way of research, which is why we
have been so keen to volunteer our time to the BHF".
