The Bournemouth Bay Run is a great event and a fantastic way to raise cash to help the BHF continue its life saving pioneering work
Bournemouth's only coastal half marathon. Run
alongside the English Channel coastline to raise vital funds for
the fight against heart disease.
This popular event also gives you the option of a 10k Run,
5k Run and 1k Family Fun Run along Bournemouth's sea

Bournemouth Bay Run event information
From the start of October 2014 there'll be major landscaping
works taking place at Pier Approach through to early 2015. To
accommodate the completion of these works Bournemouth Council are
changing the date of the event to Sunday 12 April 2015.
Challenge yourself with a 13.1 mile run against the
beautiful backdrop of Bournemouth's
coastline. Benefitting from an event t-shirt, timing
chip, medal for all finishers and goody bag as well as full
event marshalling and first aid - you'll be supported
every step of the way.
10k runners will also enjoy same benefits as half marathon

Fundraising funds research
that saves lives. In 1961 the number of children born with
a heart defect who survived to their first birthday was around only
20 per cent. Today that figure is 80 per cent, thanks to procedures
such as valve replacement that help them lead improved lives.
For all our success, there's a lot still to be done. Heart
disease is still the UK's single biggest killer. Surgery techniques
can still be improved. And there are exciting developments in
genetics and stem cell technology.

Bournemouth Pier, follow parking signs once you reach town centre.

rules of exercise: start gently, build up gradually and do it
regularly. Make sure you set achievable goals, which help you to
monitor your fitness and boost your confidence when you achieve
them. Always wear appropriate gear, and if you have any medical
condition or health concerns that may affect you on the day, speak
to your doctor about it prior to the event.

Facilities and keeping
- Please stick to pavements as much as possible, especially where
no road closures are in place.
- Please ensure your emergency contact information is filled out
on the back of your bibs
- Luggage storage will be located close to the start/finish area.
Look for the signs on the day and remember to attach the luggage
tag sent in your welcome pack to your bag.
- The event is fully fully marshalled and first aid cover is on
hand to help keep you safe, well and on track.
- Public toilets for runners and spectators are dotted along the
