Worcestershire Bike Ride event information

Event start times: 9am - 48 mile route, 9.30am - 30 mile route, 10am - 18 mile route

All riders must be back by 4pm as marshals and signs will be removed. Nestled in the heart of England, this is a must for cycling families. 18, 30 or 48 mile routes combine quiet country lanes and lush, green landscape views.

Note under 16 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Your entry fee covers the cost of running the event; it’s your sponsorship money that will help save lives.  

Your Worcestershire Bike Ride entry includes

Fundraising

Fundraising funds research that saves lives. In 1961 the number of children born with a heart defect who survived to their first birthday was around only 20 per cent. Today that figure is 80 per cent, thanks to procedures such as valve replacement that help them lead improved lives.

For all our success, there's a lot still to be done. Heart disease is still the UK's single biggest killer. Surgery techniques can still be improved. And there are exciting developments in genetics and stem cell technology.

Your entry fee covers the cost of organising the event; so join the fight for every heartbeat by raising funds. Your fundraising will help us continue funding research to ensure hearts keep beating.

Location and transport

The Worcestershire Bike Ride starts and finishes at Sixways Stadium, Warriors Way, Hindlip, Worcester, WR3 82E

There is free all-day parking on tarmac at the stadium, and full details of bus services are available on the First Group website

On the day

Toilet facilities will be available at the start/finish and at water stops along the route. Free parking will also be available all day at the stadium.

Equipment and what to wear

Please see the kit list for recommended equipment. Remember to Ramp Up the Red to show your support for the fight against heart disease. And don't forget to wear a helmet.

Training

For expert tips, training schedules and advice, visit the training zone. Remember the golden rules of exercise: start gently, build up gradually and do it regularly. Make sure you set achievable goals, which help you to monitor your fitness and boost your confidence when you achieve them. Always wear appropriate gear, and if you have any medical condition or health concerns that may affect you on the day, speak to your doctor about it prior to the event.

Keeping you safe

Your safety is our priority. Marshals will be located along the route, and first aid assistance will be available at the start/finish and along the route. A mechanical repair team and recovery vehicle will also be present.

Spectators, pets and volunteers

Unfortunately this event isn't suitable for pets, but please do bring along your red-attired cheer squad. The best cheerpoint is the the start/finish location. Make some noise!
