Wimpole Hall has been chosen as the venue once again for BBC Cambridgeshire's and the British Heart Foundation's third Great Cambridgeshire Run. This beautiful setting offers a great day out for family and friends and on the 12th September you have the chance to combine a day out with a run or walk to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, BBC Trustline and the National Trust.

Run distances are at 1 mile, 5.2 miles and half-marathon, or there's a 9.5 mile walk around Wimpole Estate. Whether you're looking for a physical challenge, a social gathering or a kick start to a healthier way of life, this is the run for you, and you can bring the family to watch or spend the day looking around all the facilities at Wimpole Hall while you take part in the run. Usual entrance fees apply.

Why take part?
The British Heart Foundation is the nation’s heart charity, dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information. We urgently need your help as we rely on donations of time and money to continue our life saving work. Together we can beat heart disease.

BBC Cambridgeshire’s Trustline champions local causes by raising thousands of pounds for charities and groups that are run by volunteers who give their time freely; and the great thing is the money stays in Cambridgeshire.

How fit do I need to be?
You need to be in good health and reasonably fit. If you have a medical condition or are in any doubt about your health you must consult your doctor before participating. Please note this is intended as a personal challenge and not a race.

Please Be Aware
Please be aware that the courses go across beautiful countryside and through woodland. There may therefore be very muddy places in wet conditions and uneven terrain. With the exception of the 1 mile run some areas will be steep.

Location & Timings
On arrival at Wimpole Hall park in the main car park and follow the signs to the registration tent. You will require £2 for the National trust car park fee which is refunded when purchasing some items on the estate. All runners and walkers must sign in before commencing the run/walk.

Register from: 9.00am
Runs from: 10.00am
Registration closes: 10.15am

Incentives
All participants will be given a medal for taking part.

This year we are also encouraging team entries of up to six people per team. The team that raises the most sponsor money from the event will win a fabulous prize donated to us by Newmarket Races. This comprises:
Entrance to Newmarket Racecourse for 6 people to a summer Saturday fixture in 2011, a private behind-the-scenes tour before the racing, a table for 6 in the Summer House Restaurant for lunch ( including a bottle of champagne) and afternoon tea.

Online registration will close on 3rd September - after this date, please come along on the day!
