We are hosting a week of boutique events bringing the worlds of science and lifestyle together.

Named Mind, Body, Science, the events are aimed at those with a passion for science, health and wellbeing. Held at seven fabulous locations all over London from July 17-21, each event promises to be engaging, fun, informative and a great chance to ask the questions you want answered.

Featuring an amazing line-up of influencers and celebrities, alongside top British Heart Foundation (BHF) funded researchers and professors, the week comprises of panel discussions, intimate dinners and one-off workout and meditation classes. Each event is raising money to support our life saving research.

Lean with Lilly

Lilly Sabri is a trained physio, famed for her ‘Lean with Lilly’ High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) classes. Her class will combine traditional Pilates based exercises with HIIT to help build a lean and toned physique. So, feel the burn, enjoy stunning views across the Thames and bask in the warm glow of knowing that every penny raised from the class will go towards life saving research. Featuring a very special guest DJ.

London Paleo Girl and Alt Healthy Becky: Buddy Up Workout and Q&A

Join social media influencers, and best friends, Tessa Steward and Becki Rabin at this stunning rooftop venue for a ‘buddy’ workout session and delicious healthy breakfast. Both women have first-hand experience of the devastating effect of heart disease and are passionate about our work. They will be sharing their personal stories and explaining why they wanted to host this special event in aid of the BHF. So bring a friend, work out together and hear their story.
Pregnancy and Heart Disease

We are bringing together a panel of women to talk about the wonderful journey of pregnancy. Lucy Wilkinson, one of our Senior Cardiac Nurses, and the BHF-funded Research Fellow Dr Suchita Nadkarni, will lead the discussion on pregnancy and cardiovascular health, the physical changes women’s bodies go through and will unravel how our immune systems can be both our friend and our foe.

Dinner with the Doc

Dr Hazel Wallace, is a junior doctor and social media sensation. During this intimate evening in aid of the BHF, she will talk about her journey to stardom and love of medicine. Set in the sumptuous surroundings of Six Storeys, you will also get closer to the research the BHF is doing into coronary heart disease, the UK’s single biggest killer.

Women and Heart Disease

Women are twice as likely to die from coronary heart disease as they are from breast cancer. Many women ignore the symptoms, putting their health at risk. BHF-funded researcher Professor Chris Gale will be at the helm for this panel discussion, exploring how women can be more heart health aware.

JUST BREATHE: Meditation and de-stressing special

Get to grips with the scientific benefits of meditation for your cardiovascular health at this special, one-off event. JUST BREATHE founder Michael will join forces with BHF researcher Dr Sati Arri, to guide the attendees through a 45 minute meditation session in the serenity of South Place Hotel’s Secret Garden, followed by a Q&A session. Refuel with a delicious Sambazon Acai breakfast bowl afterwards.

The Rooted Project in aid of the BHF: Eating to Keep it Beating

The BHF and The Rooted Project are excited to be joining forces for this event that aims to bust some nutrition myths. By bringing together a panel of experts, we will cut through the confusion and tackle the mixed messages around foods such as coconut oil, eggs and saturated fat. We’ll look at the healthiest populations around the world who have got this nailed and learn how the foods we eat dramatically affect our heart health. Our panel will also discuss all the things you can do to keep your heart ticking along smoothly.
