Santander celebrate World Heart Day

29 September 2015

Santander International Challenge Over 30 Santander staff are celebrating World Heart Day by sharing life saving skills. The team of 36 have travelled to India on a fundraising challenge to raise vital funds for our life saving research. Over nine days the team will help to build a rehabilitation centre for disabled children. The challenge will see the team tackle a huge variety of tasks ranging from digging foundations, clearing land, mixing concrete and mortar, helping to fit window frames, painting and plastering.

World Heart Day

To mark World Heart Day, the Santander team will be learning CPR and passing on the essential life saving skill to the locals working on the project with them. The team will be using our innovative Call Push Rescue training. Today, if you suffer a cardiac arrest out of hospital in the UK, you have less than a one in ten chance of surviving. Our Call Push Rescue training is three simple steps that could mean the difference between life and death.

Santander chose us as their Charity of the Year for 2015. The partnership aims to raise £1 million by the end of the year to help us in our fight against heart disease.
