The Big Collection is back and together with Diabetes UK we are appealing for volunteers to help raise money at their local Tesco supermarket.
The nationwide fundraising event is happening at over 300 stores across the UK on the 13 and 14 June. The money raised at the collection will help to fund projects across the UK which will encourage millions of people to reduce their risk of heart disease and Type 2 diabetes by leading a healthier lifestyle.
Jenna Hall, Programme Director of the National Charity Partnership, said, “Heart disease and Type 2 diabetes are both serious conditions that can shorten lives. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Through this partnership, we aim to help millions of people reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. And by joining us you can play a part in helping people live longer, healthier lives.
“So many people made an incredible effort earlier this year to help make the first collection such a success. Thousands of people gave generously of their time and money and we would love to welcome them back to help us raise even more at the next collection.”
Earlier this year hundreds of volunteers turned out in Tesco stores across the UK to help us raise around £200,000 for the charity partnership between Diabetes UK, the BHF and Tesco
