We’d like to give a huge thanks for everyone who donated to The Big Collection which took place on 13 and 14 February.
With the totals still coming through, we are delighted to have raised over £100,000 already.
Over 3,000 volunteers turned out in over 550 Tesco stores to help raise money for the new charity partnership between Tesco, Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.
This pioneering partnership launched in January this year. It aims to help people reduce their risk of Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, both of which are largely preventable, by making healthy choices. The Big Collection was one of the first fundraising activities undertaken by the partnership.
Jenna Hall, Programme Director for the National Charity Partnership, said: “So many people made an incredible effort to help make this collection such a success.
“Thousands of people gave generously of their time and money to help make this collection such a success.
“I’d like to thank everyone who took part whether that was by shaking a bucket or by putting money in it.
“We’re working together with families and communities across the UK to help people eat better, get active and make healthier choices.”
